NAME: "Scuttlers"
ABOUT: There is a species of giant insects, colloquially known as “Scuttlers”, that are rumoured to have escaped from a research lab where they were genetically created/modified, and have infested the Wastelands surrounding Nova City. No one has ever seen one up-close and lived to tell about it, since they immediately swarm any living being unfortunate enough to stumble into their territory. Interlopers typically have merely a moment’s notice before an attack, warned only by a sudden, shrill shriek before the creatures descend. They are primarily carnivorous. They also appear to be organized into a caste system. So far only two castes have been observed - the scout/worker class (the ones with wings) and the warrior class (with thicker exoskeletons, claws and a stinger).
